Janmashtami asks for ease before grandeur. The night is long — jhankis, aartis past midnight, prasad in the morning — so the garment has to breathe. We cut Janmashtami kurtas in chanderi and fine silk, in ivory, butter yellow and the blue-greens of the mor pankh, finished with restrained hand embroidery at the collar and placket.

Every piece in this edit is made to order in our Delhi atelier and fitted to your measurements. Delhi NCR clients can visit the Gurgaon flagship for a fitting; we ship worldwide, with measurements taken over a video consultation.

What should men wear for Janmashtami?

A light silk or chanderi kurta set is the standard — comfortable through long temple evenings and midnight aarti. Ivory, butter yellow and peacock tones are traditional. Add a bandi if the evening is formal.

How early should I order a made-to-measure kurta for Janmashtami?
