The Umair Kurta in black is the boldest, most architectural piece in the Umair colour family - a bespoke cotton-silk and georgette kurta with thread machine embroidery across the front and sleeves. Black with intricate embroidery is the most dramatic, most photographed evening menswear silhouette in current Indian wedding culture, reserved for the man who wants to make a clear, deliberate statement.
Thread machine embroidery is layered across the black base in dense, considered patterns - focused at the front placket, yoke, and sleeves where it catches ambient evening lighting beautifully. Against a deep black ground, the embroidery reads dimensional and luxurious in a way no pastel can match. Cotton-silk and georgette gives the kurta soft drape with structure. Modern menswear cut: clean shoulder, fitted close, contemporary hem proportion.

Our most detailed pieces take 21–24 business days from order to delivery, worldwide — tailoring, hand-finishing and quality checks included — and many pieces are ready sooner. Dates 15–30 days out sit within our usual atelier window; if your event is under two weeks away, WhatsApp us at +91 9315506791 before ordering and we will confirm honestly what is possible.
Yes — every AVK garment is hand-embroidered in our Delhi atelier. Karigars work zardozi, nakshi, kardana, mothi (pearl) and resham on adda frames, mapped from a hand-drawn khaka. A single sherwani can carry 300–400 hours of handwork; nothing is machine-run.

We alter it, free. Request a complimentary alteration within 15 days of delivery — length, chest and waist adjustments are part of the service. A made-to-order garment is not finished until it fits.

AVK dresses the full wedding calendar — kurta and bandi sets for mehendi, haldi and sangeet; sherwanis for the wedding itself; bandhgalas and tuxedos for cocktail and reception evenings. Message us the ceremony, venue and time of day and we will recommend pieces from the current collection.
